Some people choose to color their own hair which is fine until they want to change the color to a lighter or darker color. This is when they run into trouble! That is when they come to a professional hairstylist and want us to straighten it out.
First of all some of the clients aren’t always honest with their hairstylist, that they have colored their own hair. The hairstylist needs to know this because then she will know what she is dealing with.Color does not remove color,so therefore she either needs to strip it first or if the client wants hi-lites she will need to use bleach, which can damage the hair if not done properly.
Some of the colors have metallic dye in them which cannot be removed with bleach or a color remover which can be disastrous! I’ve seen peoples hair turn a flourescent green.
Again that is why your hairstylist needs to know what type of haircolor you have used at home.

People who stay up late at night tend to gain weight because their digestive systems are not keyed to metabolize food, so the best thing you can do for yourself is to try and turn in early and get at least 7 hrs of sleep a night. Sleep is when the body repairs tissue damage and creates immune cells and mood elevating hormones.

Sleep problems are directly linked to anxiety and depression so catching some natural sunlight during the day is one of the ways to help you have a better sleep. Taking 1 mg of melatonin daily about 60 minutes before bedtime helps you sleep more soundly through the night. Melatonin is a powerful cancer fighter.

Exercise is another way to help you have a better sleep, it boosts your metabolism and improves your mood and gives you more energy during the day.

Women tend to feel guilty for all the things they haven’t accomplished through the day, so they tend to burn the candle at both ends, so to speak. The best thing she can do for herself is to turn off the computer or TV an hour before bedtime, have a nice relaxing bath with Epsom salts, and crawl into bed with a good book.

Putting a few drops of essential lavender oil on a handkerchief and tucking it into your pillowcase also helps you relax.

Do not drink caffeine or alcohol before bed, instead have a nice cup of hot milk.

I hope that these tips will give you a well deserved sleep.

Some people have asked me for advice on how to stop nail biting.

Here are some tips on how to look after your nails.

First of all, I would recommend a manicure at least once every 2 weeks to start. Have your manicurist use or purchase a product called Nail Envy by O.P.I which is a nail strengthener for sensitive and peeling nails. They will also trim your cuticles and you will be less apt to chew at your nails. Keeping your nails filed also helps so you don’t have any ragged edges.

Nail growth starts from the root to the tip of the finger, with additional nutrition supplied from the nail bed, so it’s important to condition your cuticles with some kind of cuticle oil. There is a product called Healthy Hoof which is an intensive protein treatment that you massage into nails and cuticles to nourish and moisturize. Apply a hand creme over top, and wear gloves to bed at night.

Fingernails grows around 3 mm or 0.1 inch a month, and grows through completely within 3 to 6 months, so you will need to be patient. (Brewer, 24)

Relieving stress in healthy effective ways

“Making healthy changes stick can be difficult for everyone, especially when under stress. When we’re stressed, we often tend to crave the familiar, and have less energy for willpower and motivation. However, as we take small steps toward change, we gain momentum toward greater change. As we start doing more healthy things, we tend to crave even healthier changes, and as we start relieving stress in healthy effective ways, we have less stress to relieve and more energy to try even more new coping strategies. Take a few steps, and begin an upward spiral of stress relief and healthy changes.” Source:

Critical Keys to Vibrant Health and Longevity by Ray Gebauer

Source: Critical Keys to Vibrant Health and Longevity by Ray Gebauer based on his book “How to Cure and Prevent any Disease.”

Good News: “90% of health problems can be dealt with at home, bypassing the cost of a visit to the doctor.” This quote is by University of California, Berkeley School of Public Health.

The Bad News is: You have a 95% chance of dying prematurely and needlessly from heart disease, stroke, cancer, or diabetes.

If you continue the common (normal) lifestyle that most people live (out of ignorance) you WILL get the same tragic results that most people get! IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT?

The Good News is: Your body has the God-given capacity to prevent, reverse, and cure virtually any disease or health condition including obesity, heart disease, cancer, diabetes, arthritis, asthma, allergies, chronic fatigue, and autoimmune diseases if you provide it with the essential elements it needs.

Ten Critical Keys:
1. Purpose. When you live your life with passion, based on purpose or mission, your immune system is stronger and you are happier, and according to one study, you will live 8 years longer.
2. Connectivity. When you are connected with people where you feel appreciated and loved, and you love and forgive others, based on one study, you will live 8 years longer.
3. Peace and Joy. When you live with an optimistic faith in your future, and let go of worry and stress, your immune system will be stronger and you have a far greater chance of living to 100 years of age.
4. Regeneration Time (sleep). Those who sleep eight hours a night live longer.
5. Sunlight. Sunlight gives you Vitamin D and is essential for Vitamin A. Lack of sunlight contributes to obesity, diabetes, and depression. You need 15-60 minutes of sunlight a day.
6. Movement. 12% of all deaths are attributed to a lack of physical activity. If you want life and longevity, don’t avoid moving – get moving!
7. Spiritual Life. Without a sense of being connected to and loved by a Supreme Being, you will be unfulfilled, less happy, and more prone to sickness and premature death.
8. Water. How clean would the washing machine get your clothes with just one cup of water? Vibrant health, detoxification, and disease avoidance requires purified water – 10 to 12 glasses daily.
9. Healthy Food. Processed foods especially high glycemic food such as sugar, pasta, and potatoes is slow but sure suicide, and a prescription for heart disease, cancer, and diabetes. If you want vibrant health and longevity, honour your body with only whole healthy foods.
10. Essential Nutrients. The most important nutrients are the ones most missing. For example, of the eight essential Glyconutrients, six are missing from our food. They are absolutely essential for every function of every cell and organ. They are critical for vibrant health and longevity.
